Pets and their People

by Chinuaum

1. People are responsible for their pets' actions. Pets are not responsible for the pet's actions; it is the owner's direct responsibility to make sure their pet is well-cared for and safe during events.

2. People bringing pets to events are expected to control their animals. Pets are to be on lead or otherwise physically confined at events.
- Exceptions can be made later.
- This rule automatically applies to ALL pets unless the people in charge of the event allow otherwise.

3. People are expected to clean up after their pets feces and urine.
- One can use plastic bags for feces.
- If urine is in a public place where people may have contact with it, it should be cleaned up with water and/or cleaning solution if applicable.

4. All pets will be adequately provided with food, water and shelter at events.
- In the summer, especially, most pets require plenty of water at all times.
- Pets need protection from the elements - shade or warmth when needful.

5. Pets will be quiet and well-behaved at events
- Dogs constantly barking will be stopped or removed.
- Any pet displaying untoward aggression towards people or other animals shall be stopped or removed. This is a family oriented society; if a pet does not get on well with strangers and their activity, then it would be better off at home with a dog sitter.
- These removals will include the owner, if necessary.

6. No person shall harass or otherwise interfere with a pet at events without the owner's express permission.
- No one has the right to go into a campsite to pet an animal. This is dangerous and an invasion of privacy.
- No one shall make contact with an animal or allow minors in their charge to make contact with an animal without the owner's express permission.

7. No one shall tease or mistreat an animal at an event.
- Teasing includes abuse from the owner as well as others.
